Membership Requirements

Any woman 18 years of age or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnicity, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution, is eligible for membership. We honor those who won American Independence by serving our city, state, and nation.

Transferring Memberships

If you are a member in another chapter, have recently moved, and would like to transfer your membership to the Sara DeSoto Chapter, we can take care of it for you.

Collect your National DAR number, old chapter, and old chapter number, along with your name, and contact Rebecca Morgan - she'll assist you with your paperwork.

Children of the American Revolution

The nation’s oldest, largest, patriotic youth organization was chartered by the United States Congress in 1895. CAR offers membership to anyone under the age of 21, lineally descended from someone who served in the Continental Army or gave material aid to the cause of freedom in the American Revolution. Age relevant activities promote love of country and leadership skills. These boys and girls are the leaders of yesterday, today, and tomorrow, now in a second century of keeping patriotism alive though volunteerism and study.
